Business Support

Comprehensive solutions for the legal launch and scaling of your business in Indonesia.

PT PMA (Foreign Capital Company) Registration

PT PMA is the primary legal entity for foreign investors looking to establish a business in Indonesia. This structure offers significant flexibility, including the ability to have foreign participants in the company structure and hire international employees. A major benefit of this registration is eligibility for a 2-year Investor Residence Permit (KITAS) for positions such as CEO or Commissioner.

This visa allows for family sponsorship and can be extended for additional terms. Registration requires at least two foreign founders and must fall under a permitted business classification. Applicants need to provide a company name in Latin letters (at least 3 words), the intended business activity, a work address, and the planned director/shareholder structure. Smart Visa Bali simplifies the process by handling all government paperwork and ensuring a smooth entry into the market.

Local PT Company Registration

A Local PT (Perseroan Terbatas) is a limited liability company with capital divided into shares, designed for business entities without direct foreign capital. Legally, these companies belong to Indonesian citizens; however, foreign citizens can participate indirectly through a local nominee shareholder. To establish a local PT, the company must have at least one local director and one local commissioner.

This structure is ideal for those targeting the domestic market through local partnerships while operating under Indonesian legal frameworks. Smart Visa Bali provides expert guidance on navigating nominee requirements and regulatory compliance for this entity type.

The NPWP (Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak) is a mandatory tax identification number for individuals and companies in Indonesia. Indonesian law requires all residents, including expats, to maintain their own NPWP. Once registered, taxpayers are responsible for paying monthly income taxes and submitting annual tax declarations, which includes reporting income received outside of Indonesia.

Currently, NPWP registration is specifically available for KITAS holders. Smart Visa Bali facilitates the registration process to ensure you remain fully compliant with the Indonesian tax office from the start of your residency.

It is an essential tool for digital compliance, as it is mandatory for performing all online tax-related operations, including payments and filing official forms. The EFIN serves as the primary electronic identification for taxpayer information within the government system.

By securing an EFIN, business owners can manage their tax obligations efficiently through digital portals, reducing administrative overhead. Smart Visa Bali handles the application process to ensure your digital tax identity is correctly established.

All investors and companies in Indonesia are legally required to submit an annual tax report to the authorities. This report must be filed no later than April 30 for the preceding fiscal year. Even companies with no transactions during the year are required to submit a "zero report" to maintain their legal standing.

For active businesses, the report involves calculating total earnings and subtracting any advance taxes already paid (PPH15). Smart Visa Bali offers professional support to ensure your financial statements are accurate and your reports are filed on time.

The LKPM is a mandatory investment report submitted quarterly to the Investments Coordination Department (BKPM). This requirement applies to all companies, including PT PMA and local PT entities. A separate report is required for each business classification (KBLI) registered to the company.

Even if a company is not yet operational, a zero report must be submitted by the 10th day of the month following the quarter's end. Smart Visa Bali assists with the preparation and filing of these reports to avoid administrative sanctions.
