Newborn Registration
Children born in Indonesia must be registered at a local immigration center. The process involves obtaining birth paperwork from the hospital, receiving a local birth certificate from the Catatan Sipil department, securing an international passport from your consulate, and completing immigration registration.
The child must be added to the mother’s visa within 60 days of birth. Failure to meet this 60-day deadline results in overstay fines of 1,000,000 IDR per day. Smart Visa Bali assists parents with this critical paperwork; the child’s physical presence is not required during the process.
